Summer
Biology

Daily
Schedule
1.
We will begin with Module 1 during week one (May 26th);
progressing through the modules at a rate of one per week until finished. We will finish the whole book (omitting
Module 9), complete the entire remainder of the course, and take the online
Comprehensive Exam by September 5th.
Note: I will assign no lab work or module test for Module 16 to expedite
finishing. (I must have grades completed
and the course finished by September 8th as I start my full-time job
on that date.) I will include
questions over Module 16 on the Exam, however.
2.
Parents need to report to me the total number of
required labs completed by 3:00 PM, Eastern Time, September 5th. I will assign a percentage grade to the
number completed divided by the number possible, which is twenty.
3.
The suggested weekly work schedule is as follows:

Monday:
Read the first half of the module for the week, answer all the On Your
Own questions contained in the reading on paper and self-correct your answers,
and attend class at the appointed time.
Tuesday: Complete all required lab work in the module
and write informal lab reports as directed.
Put these in your three-ring notebook.
Work on any optional lab experiences desired. (Note: some labs
activities require extended lengths of time.
Please be looking ahead in your book to finish the module lab work
during the week we are on the module.)
Wednesday: Read the second half of the module for the
week, answer all the On Your Own questions contained in the reading on paper
and self-correct your answers, and attend class at the appointed time.
Thursday: Complete the module Study Guide as a closed
book pre-test: parent to grade. Student
corrects any errors in the Study Guide assignment. (Optional - complete the Module Summary
assignment as a closed book pre-Test (parent to grade, student corrects
errors).
Friday:
Review the course lecture notes, Study Guide (and Module Summary)
assignment, and complete the online Module Test or Comprehensive Exam by 3:00 PM,
Eastern Time, of the week assigned.
4.
Grading Scale:
I will provide a written evaluation for
each student by Monday, September 10th. The grading scale I will use is as follows:

5.
Late Policy:

If you are leaving on vacation or some other personal choice holiday during the summer term, please adjust your study schedule to submit the assigned work before leaving. I will always accept an assignment early. I am available during my office hours to help you complete assignments before the due date, when and if necessary, during the summer term.)
All class assignments are due by 3:00 PM, Eastern Time, on Friday. (The Apologia Science time
stamp on your work is the final authority on whether something is submitted on
time or not.) NOTE: 3:01 PM,
Eastern Time, starts a new day and I will subtract 10% if your work arrives at
or after that time.
